Ports open but cannot get into multiplayer server...

I used portforward and used 25565 then went to yougetsignal and it says port 25565 is open. I then copied the same address on that site to open my own multiplayer server and if I use direct server it says: Failed to connect to the server Connection refused: connect . When I added the server it says cannot reach server. I have downloaded the minecraft server on the website and it is up and running and says done. I also have my firewalls down. I cannot even get into other peoples servers, though I have only tried a few I found online. I went to the website and everything is up and running fine there as well. Any clue why I cannot get my multiplayer server open? Thanks.

Nevermind I figured out what I think I had to do. Experimented with some cmd numbers and used the ipv4 address instead of the other address the other sites gave me and it worked! I don't know if that address will work for others though but at least I got somewhere.
