Ok first off, I've searched alot of threads on this on several websites and nothing has helped me. I'm at wit's end (which is debatable if I have any) can someone help me?
I'm trying to create my own server, and I keep getting several problems.
First off, I downloaded the server creator from minecraft.net, and when I click the "start server.bat" my cmd prompt tells me "" Java is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file "" I don't understand why it's not reading Java, I made sure it was in my PATH Enivriomental variable thing (as a different site said to do) it is. So why isn't it working?
I have the World of Minecraft client, and it operates perfectly! So the client doesn't have issues running Java, why does the server batch?
Second, I downloaded the port forwarding tool, but it wouldn't run. Everytime I tried to run it, it claimed the files required for it to work were missing. When I checked Program Files (x86), it was there but once opened, it really was empty.
Third, I use dial-up (yeah yeah shock and awe) and when I used the cmd prompt command to open your ip data (I forget the name, but it lists gateways and such) my gateway, which I was told should be my IP address, was registered as 0.0.0.0 whats going on?
I use windows Vista 64x Home Premium, my internet speed is 38 kbps, and I DO have the 64bit version of Java. can someone please help me?
