I was looking around in my World of Minecraft, and these odd files appeared in my skins folder. They appeared a while after I downloaded it, and their names are made of strange characters and I cannot delete or rename them because of these characters. The message I get is that the name is invalid. They are .5 to 3.8 GB each and have dates many years in the future on them or no date at all for the date modified. Folders appeared too with these names and are inaccessible. How do I get rid of them? Deleting the folder with the World of Minecraft wouldn't work due to these files. I did not download anything after the World of Minecraft. They also have file types in the same strange characters. There are 9 of these and 13 folders.

Wow, thats pretty weird. Like jak said, post pictures or the file. I would liek to see this... Wait, not the file. I dont want no lots of gb and galactic text on my computer.. scratch that and just please post the pics.

I cannot delete any of them or rename them. It is because of their filenames. The characters showing up as boxes with numbers are the invalid ones.

Could you give screenshots of the files? and... what exact dates also. I can try to use my nerdish skills and find the things on the internet (google) and see what it means, and how it got there. Question: Where did you download the World of Minecraft Client from? Some people could have made something different.

I downloaded it from here. They weren't there at first, but a couple days later I'm browsing in it and there they are. I can't figure out how to post an attachment and I'm not about to go through Photobucket just to get a screenshot posted.

the dates are the modified dates. Fortunately, I have another copy of World of Minecraft on my external hard drive that doesn't have these things. Is there a way to force clear a flash drive without damaging it?

the weird thing is, my flash drive and World of Minecraft function normally despite the fact that it seems to be overloaded, the size total coming out to 39 GB in the skins folder on an 8 GB flash drive, which I actually saved the screenshot to with no problem. False reading perhaps?
scanned them with a Norton custom scan, no viruses.
The space used/free bar is very low, so maybe it is a false reading.
Formatted it with success. No more icon, but the corrupt folder is gone!
now to get the icon...
backed it all up before the format to my external hard drive.

This is quite weird, the only files that would be in the skin directory are the textures that are obtained from someone elses realm.

But he describes the files as really large though, and we don't use those characters in the skin folder.
