regarding running instead on walking on World of Minecraft

Hey guys was just wondering if you can run as a normal part of minecraft... When I double tap forward I move quicker but I can't do it all the time was wonering if that's normal.. :)

If your hunger has only 3 bars left your character wont run due to the hunger
