Return of the Immortals. pt.1! [Story]
A Brief Note: This is completely fictional. Although I would like to continue the RP based off of this. Because I cannot play on World of Minecraft, I'll be posting this story.
The beginnings are always the worst. Normally it is something so trivial. A crossing into another person's land, a simple lost drinking match. This wasn't trivial. This was the destruction of an entire race!
Of course, You have no idea what I'm talking about. It's about time you learnt your history though. The first start was simple enough. Several within our order had destructive... capacities. It was simply their nature. Our codes forbid it, however.
The punishment for breaking the codes is severe. Rather than face these terrible atrocities, they split from the Order, taking with them many of our own.
Your confused? About what? We're known as the Immortal's Guardians. We serve the Immortals.
When some of the Immortals split from their order, taking with them their Guardians, an aristocratic archer family called the Dantiskes believed that they stood to gain if the Immortals disappeared from the scene. And disappear we would.
They convinced the Fourth Empire that it would also be in their best interests as well if we disappeared. They didn't attack us openly, not at first, no. Instead, they picked us off, quietly, like the cowards they were. The first two to die was Wander and Halin, who were simply exploring a distant region. We sent five of our Armored Cloaks to see what the bloody devil'd had happened to them.
There were more disappearances in the following months. Here and there, all in remote regions, or dangerous territories. There was also a stirring amongst the Imperials. We saw the army being raised, but did not think that they had the audacity to attack us! But they did. And soon, we would discover the meaning for this army.
We had loyalists amongst them, so we were forewarned when the orders orders came for the attack to begin. We met them at Davy's Gulch and there our armies clashed for the first time. We killed thousands of them, at the cost of one man, and yet, more came. At first, it seemed as if we would win the battle. Then the Dantiskes intervened. While we were busy fighting the grunts of their army, they would shoot us down with arrows. Cowards.
We withdrew again and again, and each time there was more and more faces missing from the groups, an emptiness that we still feel, even now. The last battle was at War's Halt, a valley that we had fortified in the event that we were forced back like this. We held there, waiting for that final attack. We waited for twenty-five days, as they recruited more men.
When they finally attacked, their army was comparable to a massive swarm of ants, rushing towards us in a wild frenzy. The Dantiskes, like the cowards they were, held back. The swarm ran into the mines that our more... inventive engineers had placed. We let loose various bursts of magic, killing more of them. Our plan was to keep them back from the defensive line for as long as possible.
When they finally clashed with our front line, they were halted almost immediately. We had placed our best warriors at the front, and our archers close behind them. As the Dantiskes advanced, our gunmen and our archers let loose there rounds, tearing through the hostile horde. Yet, they had a trick up their sleeves that even Matthias had not foreseen and Matthias was paranoid enough to suspect everything.
The fight was going well, and we began to hope that we might win. We began to hope far too soon, as massive shells ripped into our forces, including shells that detonated on impact. One by one, the Immortals fell, until only Darkbayn, and Skor was left. A shell landed near Dark, and it was fortunate that he was not killed in the blast. He was merely knocked unconscious, and landed near Skor.Seeing the young Immortal injured, he called together the few Senior Guardians that there was left. It was myself, Raven, Matthias, Jorge, and Vroen, Skor's Guardian.
Skor told us to take the rest of the Guardians that were still alive and clear out. We objected. Guardians do not go quietly into the dark, but instead die roaring their defiance nearby the bodies of the Immortals we served so proudly. We would not leave, and Skor hurled us away, all except Vroen.
I landed on a hill nearby, where I could still see Skor and Vroen.. Bursts of magic lanced from their position, killing hundreds, yet twenty more rushed in to fill the gap of each dead grunt. Vroen was overcome first, forced to the ground by the sheer weight of bodies. I saw Skor get hit by a solid mass shell, and then there was a white blast and then, a massive detonation. By my guess, tens of thousands of their soldiers died in that blast. I met with Raven and Matthias, who had gathered up the rest of us. Jorge had landed too close to the front, and had been killed by a Dantiske patrol.
You should rest now. We have a busy day ahead of us, Dark.
:O
I was to lazy to read it all, but from the bits and pieces that I've read i was thinking that you could someday make a good author :P
