The minecraft server list has been going online and offline a lot lately (about 1 min online to 5 min offline). If you are using the updated World of Minecraft client, there should be a button that says cached. Click that and you will get the most recent server list that the client has fetched. If you still can't connect to a server, you will have to wait until the minecraft.net server list goes online again. Just keep clicking retry (that might be boring) or go do something else and check minecraft.net a while later and see if the servers are showing up there. If they are, your client should work fine. Yeah, im getting the same problem too, and i am running it cached -.- it shows the sever list, but i cannot connect to any server. Not even single player. o.o

actually i intended to buy the game, but getting always this annoying "server timed out while getting server list" prevents me from doing so....

u realize getting the full game has absolutely nothing to do with this right?
like...the full game cant have the client...this is only for multiplayer servers

I have the same problem. I can cache the server list but when i select a server i got the response: Server timed out while getting server details

So we all have the same problem and 2 or 3 attempts have been tried to fix it using cached and telling what the problem is. This part has already been sort of said but... Minecraft was just majorly updated such that no World of Minecraft client can connect to the server list. This would mean that the problem isnt on our(those using the client) but the makers of World of Minecraft who Im sure are working on the problem now. Hold tight and just use the normal launcher until the problem can be fixed.

im having the same prob here , i cant even connect with my new password only my old one on World of Minecraft and when i connect the server list times out. :L
