When i try to open the World of Minecraft cient i get the message:
Error occurred while loading server list.
Server returned HTTP response code:
When i re-open it still doesn't work.
Are minecraft servers down?

i had the exact same problem and its "bugging" me (lol good pun eh?)
but seriously i redownloaded it...my guess would be that minecraft updated...again...and like 1.5.9 this 1 wont work either
but then again im not sure so dont take my word for it...its just an educated guess

@OP: That's because the actual server list is down, there is nothing wrong with the client... test it yourself http://www.minecraft.net/servers.jsp

sooo for us all with the 503 error....? how do we connect to the servers through the World of Minecraft client?!?

There should be an error with three options: retry, cached, quit. Select cached. It worked for me but I got the Pixel Acceleration error. If you got this error before, then this will not work like it didn't for me.

This error means that the minecraft.net server returned a 503 (Service unavailable) error. This is minecraft.net error, not World of Minecraft client. If you have seen a valid server list in the last 24 hours, it will allow you to use a cached version of the list instead, but some of the servers on the cache may not be online any longer or may have changed url since the list was seen and may no longer work.
Pixel format not accelerated
This error means that your video card driver is too old or your D3D needs updating. You should see if there's a new video card driver available and/or update direct x.

Well, my password is right and so is my username, but it sais they're wrong. my guess is that it has something to do with the direct connect url. What does it do and where do u find them and does it matter which one u use
