How long do mobs stay in holes with water in them if they can not get out? i have a moat around my tower that is four layers deep with a soul sand floor and one layer of water and have noticed that cows/spiders seem to dissapear somewhere in the day and night cycle.

I don't know how long it takes but i do know that they drown >:)

thanks alexander i think you must be right. i dont think they drowned Rawwrhhh because the water was only one block deep.
EDIT:i guess i shouldnt have included water in the question since it was irelivent :D
