Skin, Minecraft.net server and /client (LOCKED)

So theres recently only 3 things that i've got my mind into...and its about skin Minecraft.net server and /client and i'l get into it later.
1. I downloaded the World of Minecraft thing that apears on the downloads and im concerned about the skin folder that i got. i have my skin, and i placed it in...then nothing happens. Is something wrong? Am i going to have to use World of Minecraft forever if i need my skin working?
2. World of Minecraft realms are quite large in World of Minecraft so im wondering if you can make a realm in minecraft.net? Im not sure about things like this so sorry if im mentally retarded but im really excited about using the World of Minecraft realms...if it doesnt work then i guess i have to get a gift code or buy minecraft.
3. When typing /client it will send me to these options [this is related to 1 (skin)] so i typed /client skin always but nothing happens...big deal i placed my skin in and nothing happens...am i meant to go tech like hell and crack the file?

It means that when you enter a realm/world with a texture pack your client will automatically download and use that texture pack for as long as you stay there.

1. You cannot use a Skin without buying the game, and to use a skin anyway you go to Profile on minecraft.net
2. The Skin folder is for Textures not skins.
3. And by your own realm you mean server? You can look up such server software as McForge.
