Slow load/not running?

Hey,
I used to play World of Minecraft last year quite often. I remembered the game, downloaded the current version, and it seems to take about five minutes to load, at which point it crashes java.
My computer runs crysis maxed out, so I don't think it's a hardware issue. ><
Any tips?

it's probably your low amount of RAM, yes I mean RAM, because I run it on my computer (4GB, 1035T x6 cpu, and hd 5450) i know i cant player crysis on max settings, but it's definitely your low RAM. I run Minecraft at max settings and it whips up 1.2 GB RAM usage.
About the same thing happens to me, but like it runs smoothly for like 5 secs, then it just freezes and goes black. It might be because I edited the map file =O

Sorry, Updated Java and now it's running. However, it's running 2-3fps!
I have a 3.6ghz dual core with 2GB of ram and a 9800gtx+, so again, no hardware issue I'm sure.
EDIT: Nevermind, it's broken again. Ugh.
