DO NOT SMOKE
IT KILLS O_O
So I added auto embedding of youtube and google links.
Enjoy.
Smoking is 1 of the things I hate most (along with alcoholics, people who love myspace/facebook too much, twilight, people who bash people for no reason, and religion) Smokers should (and will) die horribly and painfully. If you smoke, or are someone on the list of people I hate, then please try not to be 1 of the people I hate (except religion, that's (almost) acceptable)
... I don't hate smokers, as smoking is a choice, and people have the right to smoke. That's just the truth of it, and the smokers I know have a wide variety of responses to anti-smoking, from "I can't stop, I'm addicted" to "I like to smoke" to "Lung cancer is bullsh*t". I run into "Lung cancer is bullsh*t" a lot. I don't really like it, as my mother died from lung cancer due to smoking throughout her life. She did not go peacefully, and everyone thinks that death will be painless. It's not... she was in terrible pain for the last year of her life, right up to the point where she begged us to pull the plug. Her passing was not quick, and after her passing, we've had to live with the decision we made.
I didn't mean to get all emo, but... yeah. =(
So, please don't say something like "I hope smokers die horribly and painfully", because many of them are already on the road to tens of thousands of dollars of medical bills and a bad fate. The smokers you hope will die painfully are still human, they are fathers, mothers, friends, lovers, and family who will never be seen again. I am even slightly offended by what you have said, but I will chalk it up to the fact you may not understand the sharpness of your words.
My mother was born and raised in Vietnam and she lived in hiding from the Vietcong until the war ended... then she came here, when anti-smoking education wasn't as prevalent as it was today. Anti-smoking education was non-existent in Vietnam when she was there. So please, do not wish ill towards others like that.
I am loathe to take choices away, but the best we can do is educate the people, and raise our children to know the truth. But in the end it's their choice, and it's unethical to take a choice like that away, unless it becomes EVERYONE'S choice.
Slowpoke, can you please try be less of a douche?
Mah original intent for this thread was absurd humor >_>;
That video was hilarious!
Way back in 6th grade, we had an assignment. Create an anti-smoking PSA. This one jokester in my class came up with something hilarious (at least at the time).
A man is standing there and some guy walks past, throwing his cigarette on the ground. The man bends down to inspect it. He gets hit by a car and dies.
SMOKING KILLS.
This video made my face smile.
Congrats Syn, you have started a sh*tstorm.
@Slowpoke

Yet you yourself are bashing people for going on myspace and liking a girl book?
my take on smoking is, that you have the choice to smoke, but you dont have to. it gets you addicted pretty fast, and it ruins your lungs, not to mention second-hand smoke that is breathed out of said lungs, bearing with it carbon dioxide emissions that can kill even quicker than the actual act of smoking......*leaves the room*
LOL ISNT THAT AWESOME
I, for one, embrace our cyborg overlords (but still don't embrace smoking, asthma)
My problem with the "it's their health, so it's their choice" argument is that it's not only the smoker's own health that is affected. Growing up with two smoking parents has greatly increased my own chances of developing lung cancer and loads of other diseases when I grow up and given my brother asthma, and I don't remember either of us ever choosing to smoke.
Banning smoking altogether may be a little extreme, but I'd be fully in favour of eradicating second-hand smoking by making it illegal except in private and alone (or maybe among other smokers), and I have zero sympathy for the people who come out with stuff along the lines of "we smokers are being persecuted! Why can't we smoke where we like?". I'd definitely stop parents smoking. I really don't think the "it's their life and health to do what they want with" thing applies there as I feel a parent's life isn't entirely their own: it belongs partly to their children.
The video made me laugh, anyway. Cancer and the Cyborg Apocalypse? Smoking really does kill!

As much as I love College Humor, I love killing my lungs more.
