Well I am very excited for Minecraft Survival to go multiplayer, and I
have some big plans. I want to treat the game like an actual mining
town, with a few adjustments. For instance: I hire miners to explore
the big caves and mine every mineral they see (ex. Coal, Iron, Diamonds,
Gold, etc), and I hire soldiers to scout out the area ahead of time to
kill all monsters (besides, Peaceful mode is for sissies). We build the
town from the ground up, have a general store that sells food in
exchange for some currency that is to be decided later (or maybe if
Notch reads this, he could add Minepoints as a currency). At night
time, the town gets locked up tightly, we have guards in the guard
towers as watchmen. This is when we would build up the town more, since
it's not safe to leave and do our daily activities. We could also have
a blacksmith providing weapons for soldiers and anyone who needs them.
I may be getting ahead of myself, but hey, I'M REALLY EXCITED. And
Notch, if you're reading this, please consider my minepoints idea. I
imagine you get a lot of requests, but I'd appreciate it. Please, tell
me what you guys think, and if you have any other ideas please share.
BTW, I posted this on the official minecraft forum, so that's why I have some shoutouts to Notch.

Great ideas, maybe Hax should look at this if he/she hasn't already.
Maybe this could do better by the fact that there are two forts or more operated by players at the same time too. That would heat things up two or threefold depending on the number of teams.
Of course when I say teams, what I'm implying here is that griefing may incur with multiple sides, which should be allowed. This is a survival game like you said Kopis, so it's all the more survival if resource wars were allowed. People get to sissy and unchallenged if there isn't that sort of competition. Life just becomes to easy when you can merely block up a door to keep the creeps out.
Anyway, think of the planning and team cooperation that could go into such a fierce war, planning strategic defence and attack. Take this I thought up off. It's called, "Operation Blackfall". Simply if you have intel of the opposing team having a mineshaft, equiped with a staircase, or even better, a ladder system, then what can happen is that the attacking team can scare of the defending team to retreat into the mine and seal it off with lava poured down. Since lava can run infinite so long as there is a slope, then the lava would trap them all the way down to the heart of the mine, thus proving near impossible to escape. By the time they do, the base up above could be in ruins and looted, thus, end operation and ouch for the other team.
I have experimented in minecraft with this tactic, plus at least 5 or more others, all ranging from attack, to automated security strategy. Not gonna say what they are in case this idea does make it.
So, best side with me if you want the best brains on the job.
