My Friend can't connect to my server. I have been trying to fix this for 3 days. I have a mac and i have a
bukkit server, (craftbukkit). my server runs fine and i can join it by
typing in localhost, and i gave my friend my external ip
(whatismyip.org) and his says failure to connect. I did port forwarding
both tcp and udp and the port forward test says success. my
server.properties server ip is blank, and my firewall is disabled. Can someone please help?

Your computer specs is your computer processor and amount of ram you have. To check your specs on Windows, click the start button and click Computer. Open your computer properties and look through that. An example of my own computer specs is shown below:

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo T8100 and 2.10GHz (GHz is your computer's speed)
Ram: 4GB

If  you want to check your internet speed go to http://speedtest.net/ . Since I have dial-up internet mine sucks monkey butt. My download speed is 0.50 mbps and the upload speed is 0.30 mbps :|

Once you get your information, feel free to fill out this survey-ish thing to see if you could host a minecraft server (SMP): http://canihostaminecraftserver.com/ <--- Don't worry it's safe

My Advice for Hosting:
If you want to host a Minecraft SMP server I would recommend at least 2 GB of ram or more. 1 GB wouldn't do it since Minecraft's job is to eat your ram. And anything above 10 mbps uploading speed would be good enough I think.

EDIT: Shoot I read and found out you have a Mac. I don't know much about the Mac since I am a windows user so see this to check your computer specs: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20071003221649AAxmLMo
