Spinning Spider in cage?

While exploring a cave, I found what looks like an abandoned mine, complete with wooden support beams and platforms, and remnants of rail littering the corridors. At one junction, I found something I'd not seen previously. It looked like a spinning spider on fire inside of a small black cage.
Anybody seen anything like this?
It seems to be protected by a lot of spider webs.

Thanks for the tip. What's interesting is that I encountered the spawner will playing in peaceful mode. Guess it doesn't qualify as a bonafied monster.

it probably like herobrine's mineing room but i think herobrine put the spider cave in it and set the comweb around so u wil be stuck.

Cave spiders are like normal spiders, but smaller, and when they hit you they will poison you. I would recommend always destroying these spawners when you find them.
