Means you are having memory issues or java isn't configured correctly. Check how much ram is in use and close some applications otherwise uninstall java and re-install the latest version. If this doesn't fix it, re-download the client and extract it to local drive and try again.

(This may or may no be the problem, but every time someone has this issue it is usually the cause - memory or java.)
Just a note: If you are joining a server usually that error occurs when either the server is having issues or doesn't have memory for you to join or you don't have enough memory to store local data.

i did both of these, and it still doesnt work, it happens when i hit sign in, not when i go to a server
also i have redownloaded World of Minecraft and restarted my computer, made sure nothing was running in the backround, even my webbrowser
