Top-Down Map needed, like the one with the original client

I can use a map like the one used with the original client, before Notch disabled hacks. It showed a colored top-down real-time view of the level.
If anyone knows where I can get my hands on it, I won't be able to thank you enough.

Wait, what?! that sounds awesome, or am I just mishearing things? I want a map! Notch could add this to survival mode, a virtual 3D map in the inventory that you would get from a random zombie, that would allow you to see everything from top down, and let you use the arrow keys to move the 3D map around, letting you see anything you've already seen (or been near), including maze passages. That would be awesome...

Do you know what the "Original Clients" version number is? That sounds like a really useful tool for admins. Try going to Notch, he sometimes (sometimes!) answers questions like that.
