Trees since Halloween not decaying

Has anyone else noticed that since Halloween, the leaves on trees don't decay over time if you cut the trunk out?
It's ruined my underground forest as I'll harvest the wood, but then be stuck with loads of leaves that I can't be bothered to remove myself. I'm sure they used to just disappear.

Im having the same problem!
Im trying to harvest trees in the way of my new house but the leaves keep staying there, its very distracting..!
I hope Notch fixes this soon!
