I'm having the same problem. From what I've been able to find in the forums, there doesn't seem to be an easily definable root cause of the problem.
I've rebooted my PC
I've rebooted my router
I've flushed my DNS cache
I've verified my username/login many, many times
I'm able to login to minecraft.net with NO problems
I've even cleaned my toilet and nothing helps
Thoughts?
