After loading either Alpha or Classic, the Java area goes black on my father's new PC. Why?
I am using the W7 Home Premium 64bit and I have the latest version of Java on it. Running it in compatibility mode really messes it up...
I have the same problem T.T Works perfectly fine on my desktop but craps out on the laptop, but everything about the laptop is newer then the desktop T.T
You should probably look at the graphics. Its not gonna have to do with the operating system. The fact that you are on a laptop might be that it doesn't meet all the performance requirements. You might wanna check that out
Make sure that you have installed the latest java pack on your new computer. It can be found here: http://www.java.com
aivant, the requirements for minecraft are really low, I'm on like the crappiest laptop there is. I get black screens sometimes, and it's because my invidia drive stopped working or something like that, try looking at that.

I really doubt it has anything to do with your father's PC running win7. I run win7 on my laptop, which is what I play on, and it works fine. Did you try updating Java on his computer? Maybe its not up to the most current version, or there is a bug (in which case I assume that updating will find and fix said bug).
