I need help trying to fix minecraft. Right now, when I try to run it, it gets stuck on the updating game - Done loading page and the green bar is stuck at like 95% done or so. I run an ASUS labtop and I have Java 6 update 38 64-bit version.
System details:

Installed memory (RAM): 8.00 GB
System type: 64-bit Operating System
To be more specific, here is a screenshot of what happens when I try to play. Also, I tried to play the demo and it didnt come up on the minecraft.net page. Any help would be extremely appreciated.

It's not my first time loging in. I've played the game before but i dont know what went wrong. I used to be able to play it and i dont know when it stoped working. I have not bought the game but i used to beable to play the demo at least before. I was going to purchase the game later today. I don't want to buy it until i can at least get the demo working so i know i would actually beable to play online. Also, I -JUST- downgraded to java 6 update 38. I had java 7 before when the problem started and the problem is still persisting even with java 6.

okay, so you said that you didn't buy the game yet right? And the demo is only for a few days long
thats all they give you sorry, but you'll probably have to buy the game or play the classic instead.

That has absolutely nothing to do with what my problem is. The game doesnt work -at all-. I cant even play the classic, and if i bought the game right now there would be no absolutely no point because i wouldnt beable to play it.

Have you looked around for any error reports which may give more insight into what your actual problem is?

you first log in with the real account? playing minecraft offline and playing on it for the first time offline, will not work you have to at least log in once that is not offline, if that isn't your problem then see if you have Java 6 thats what a lot of people use they dont use Java 7 much try those.
