Elmo here,
Just hit something impressive about the World of Minecraft Client 1.6.1 (i hope i got this right)
If you have a cached version of the server.jsp(e.g. i think World of Minecraft client caches the server data list) and when the server.jsp is down on minecraft.net. You will get a time out box with three options: Retry, Cached and quit
Retry is obvious and so is quit, but this add-on cached is cool and great for my off line server version of minecraft mclawl.
I will try to find out where it's cached to refer to, but this will enable me to(if I'm right ) connect to a server without having minecraft.net up and running at all or even access to server.jsp on-line.
Even if im wrong and on-line is effected then i know off-line won't be and i can play without the internet even being on.
I'm impressed..
After doing some monitoring using install rite. I found the file that caches the server data just in case minecraft.net is down.
It is stored in temp folder local to the user.
and the file is simply called World of Minecraft-cache.dat
on opening World of Minecraft-cache.dat i get a list of all the servers cached at the time of connection.
Now all i need to do is keep hold of this or create my own cache file and if minecraft.net is down and i lost my World of Minecraft-cache.dat file then i can recopy.
You probably can't make sense or you don't understand why this is very very useful, but with my localhost server is the golden key to connecting offline with classic minecraft and having a a client like mclawl in a virtual server(gives me commands off line)
And because im using mclawl offline i have all the powerful commands at my fingertips. Also no rules, no griefers no one but me on my own server that uses my hdd no online hosting.
I'm going to look into adding a button for selecting cache/localhost(127.0.0.1) over servers option by disassembling and injecting a bit of my own java code..
Maybe a couple of suggestion.
1. A cache button option on the login window
2. Also maybe better memory management.
Because it's now .exe based startup and not .bat. Memory allocation to java is less flexible.
I could do this by decompiling and recompiling the code. Write a routine for memory allocation.
with the .bat World of Minecraft i add the text -Xmx800M -XX:+AggressiveHeap
the added text improved my connection greatly.
I understand why the reload and switch were removed, but they were useful.
3. Also maybe another option next to dump button which when clicked can load up a help file or popup window with keyboard help.
just a few ideas..
else i could just allocate memory via the java console
i canot enter on any server.... i jst use cached version... error every time....
lagg....
i just can join on World of Minecraft realm server...
help me....

CONFIRMED 100% yess!! I can use my local mclawl server off-line(not even connected to the internet router switched off)
using the cache option to load using 127.0.0.1
If you want to setup a offline virtual server i have made instructions on how to set it up it click here:

With the cache option in World of Minecraft v1.6.1... minecraft.net can be gone and it will still connect, unlike v1.5.9 where it wouldn't give the option. It would just say connecting to single player.
Now all we need is a option on the login window to give one the option of cached.
And now i can continue with my huge epic craft. OFF-LINE! if minecraft.net goes down.
