I use ubuntu, and am no longer able to use the World of Minecraft client as there are only downloads for windows and OSX
Uploading one now.
thanks
it doesn't seem to work. It won't run and when I tried to run it from the terminal it said "bash: ./World of Minecraft.sh: cannot execute binary file"
Is the .sh some kind of binary? I cant read it with gedit
I can't get it to run, and gedit won't read it either.
I opened it with a hex editor and found that all it is is 52 0's
Stupid tar on the mac was screwing up the mtree specification somehow and nulling out all the characters in the first file specified. I tried for about an hour to fix it before giving up and just doing it manually.
Anyhow, TLDR: Uploaded a new version.
Is World of Minecraft Game Client v1.6.1b already the new version? Cause it still doesn't work.
Yep still doesnt work, cant open in gedit, scribe, and in hex editor its all 00's.
Upload new version, please.
Same for me, it doesn't work, contains only zeros.
did you upload the fixed version yet? If tar is not working you could archive it in something else. Or just put what goes in the .sh on these forums
It seems like
#!/bin/sh
java -Xms800M -Xmx800M -classpath .:lib/boot.jar:lib/World of Minecraft.jar:lib/minecraft.jar -Djava.library.path=native/linux Main
as World of Minecraft.sh would work, but it doesn't
Doesn't work for me either.
I'm so sorry, I must have uploaded the wrong version.
Ok, I'm going to upload a new version, download it again, unpack it and make sure it works. Totally sorry about the muck around guys, please forgive me!
Just FYI:
#!/bin/sh java -Xms640m -Xmx1024m -jar lib/boot.jar
Ok: packed, extracted, tested, uploaded, updated post, downloaded, extracted, tested.
So fingers crossed, third time's the charm!
What i did is after i downloaded it i extracted it to the desktop then i ran it in the terminal and it ran fine on my first try, but when i click any button with the mouse it gives me the option menu and i can walk around but not build because of menu popping up for some reason anyone else having this problem?
get the dont lose focus hack
Hi,
I downloaded the linux version.
When I try to launch the client (with World of Minecraft.sh), I run into the java.awt.HeadlessException error.
I use Ubuntu 10.10, with sun java.
Do you know how to bypass this error please ?
Thanks in advance !
Bert-
Bert and I worked it out on IRC.
You need to remove "OpenJDK" ... example "openjdk-6-jre-headless openjdk-6-jre-lib"
and do the following:
Open terminal and run - "sudo apt-get install sun-java6-bin sun-java6-jre sun-java6-jdk"
but it doesnt work
i use ubuntu
