Were's the difference? Theres only one Version to download.
Java
Download both offline versions of the installer for Java, 'Windows' and 'Windows x64', here.
He has got Windows 7 64 Bit.
What should he download?
He should download 'Windows' then if that doesn't work, 'Windows x64' as well.
He try all two. It doesn't work.
He think Java is not the problem, because he can play in Browser without problems!
It is a problem with how the World of Minecraft Client is fetching Java. It's not an error with Java. You need to have him force the World of Minecraft Client to get the right version of Java. Do the following:
Open the run.bat in a text editor (Right Click > Edit) and change the line that
reads:
set JAVA6="auto"
To Read:set JAVA6="C:\MyPath\bin\java.exe"
(change "C:\MyPath" to your actual java installation's path)
You should replace it with:set JAVA6="C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe"
The client found Java. He can login and choose a server without problems. When he choose a server, then the problem comes.
Are
there any softwares that are not compatible with the client?
Is it the same error that shows up?
It's the same error like: Error (Sorry, I found it after my post)
Are you using an ATI Graphics card?
Yes! Ati Radeon HD 4670, but I want to upgrade to HD 5870.
Assuming that you are using Windows 7 64bit, you need to download the first item on this page, then install it. Once complete, restart your computer.
The Ati driver is installed.
New Version is installed. Minecraft Client doesn't work.
When I try to play single Player there was another error:
And in the Java Window stood:
org.lwjgl.opengl.OpenGLException: Invalid value (1281)
Did you ever edit run.bat and set a custom RAM limit?
No, I don't.
Is that good?
It works again!!!
I resize it and it works!!!!!
Juhu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great! Great! Great!
What do you mean you " resized it " ?
I have the same problem and I'd like to know how to fix it ;__;
Currently having the same issue while trying to use the client.
:(
Sorry to bump this old topic but I have the exact same problem. Tried reinstalling java. I already used the client today and then after I closed it and trying to open it again this error comes up. It's hard to play without hacks :/
Umm.. anyone? I've now tried every thing I could find searching this issue. I completely removed java and installed it again, updated my GPU drivers, downloaded the client several times and resized the memory limit. I just don't understand why did it work just fine before and now all suddenly I only get this error. The normal version in minecraft.com works ok. Building a tall structure and falling off it without hacks for 300 times is annoying x_x
what do you mean by Run>regedit>HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>JavaSoft>Prefs>minecraft
How do you do that plz be more specific on what to do!!!!
Ah thank you million times, that thing did actually work! :)
Ive only got an adobe, apple computer, inc, classes and microsoft folders in software plz help
Got it ty ty ty ty ty
I am having the same trouble it seems to be an issue with my height and width but it wont let me set em I change the values in the registry but every time I try to connect to a server it resets both the height and width to 0
I think this is a common and pressing issue with the client, I managed to re-size the height of mine to zero earlier today and got this error, which persists after re installs, though I don't know if it's fixable one without forcing resolutions.
man for some reson i cant use noclip i was before but now i cant plez help!
thnx alot it works :D
WoM Coins: 20
Have him download the 32 bit version of Java, as well as checking if the x86 version is updated.
