I just downloaded the World of Minecraft Client yesterday and was playing on it with no problems.
But when I started it today a message poped up saying
"Downloading Update. Please Wait..."
After that I get.
"The application will now quit. It should pick up the updated applet version when restarted."
So I pressed ok, and it closes.
When I start it back up it does it again, and I have
tried re-downloading. Restarting it Numerous times.
And everything I could think of, so please help me out.

I need help with this stupid error

I can't do the building work in time to get my server up properly without moving at the speed I need/flying - Is there any other way I can do this without World of Minecraft? Kinda sick of this error now.

I run the program and it works fine in single player but I cant join any servers.When i try to join one it says on the black screen "WARNING: Found unknown Windows version: Windows Vista" and then it just makes a single player game.

What I did was went to the download page and redownloaded the minecraft.jar file; LINK -
https://s3.amazonaws.com/MinecraftDownload/classic/minecraft.jar
I got rid of the old minecraft.jar file from the lib folder and put in the new one. Sure enough it worked.

The same thing was happening to me, but after trying several times. I left it alone for a while, then I started it back up again and it did nothing (so I assumed it was updating) and sure enough it said login and server list came up.
