I downloaded World of Minecraft client and opened it, first it said i need to download minecraft.jar or something like that, and when i did so it went into login screen. When i log in, there comes an error : Server timed out while getting server list. Do you wish to retry or quit?
So if i press quit, the program shuts off. When i press retry, the box disappears and comes back soon. Pressing the retry button many times dont help anything, unlike the download tutorial said. I have also tried to use URL thing. It goes in to the game, but then comes this text:
Failed to connect
You failed to connect to the server, It's probably down!, but its not, because my friend can play withouth any kind of problems with his MAC. Anyone can help me?
My computer is Windows 7 64 bit.

Yes, the client is unsupported and classic doesn't exist. But do you think I care? lulz no.
Tip: You can still play classic (look up ClassiCube!)

i havea a solution, but it is more complicated, but it works. You type in the ip crap into the mc:// thingy on the bttom when you are at the title screen. you need to have it like this
EXAMPLE
mc://69.354.325.64/username/453t4w5g4w45g5tabfa8f4
type that in, but intsead of that, put in thw stuff for the server uou are trying to connect to:
put the:
ip,username, and then the salt.
