World of Minecraft Client Wont work

I've been trying to get the client , i did everything the instructions said, and when i run run.bat, the CMD screen pops up and then this:
ERROR: Failed to run minecraft
i've downloaded the recent one (1.5.9) and have been trying to make it work since yesterday.
Is there anything i can do to make it work?

Th recent update makes the minecraft.jar become 0kb.
unfortunately, World of Minecraft isnt doing anything about the problem.

Have you checked to make sure that it wasn't just that one time it failed?
