Everytime I search for a server, it just freezes, i've ended up with like 20 frozen World of Minecraft server lists, can I fix this?

Something is defiantally up, Its also happening to me. It also won't let me connect to servers if I do it the old fashion way and browse through the servers. Ive tried reinstalling, and that didnt help at all.

yes me makes problems too and my MC Classic run not of the website and its freeze and freeze grr...help! help! Or why???? Is that a bug in MC???

Same thing happens for me I login then click server then hit go and it loads then says "unable to connect". . . and when i type in search it just freezes all together.

Apparently, from what i've heard minecraft got hacked late last night and they had to freeze the servers, minecraft.net is back up though.

Yeah it's still hacked.
You can still search, but the issue is that World of Minecraft has to sort through all the server names and bring back the correct search result. Tons of server names, means longer to search.
It appears deltagamers are the culprits. I will absolutely never join a server hosted by them now.
Edit: Or possibly not.... Someone who is fluent int the chans go and see what's happening over there and report back.

I just discovered also that servers with flags work too, also have you seen the names of the hacked servers? "gingers have souls" "mad is a sexy furry" and "stew is awesome" among others.

I cant get on the server, as soon as I log in nothing happens. I dowloaded the new Mincraft Mod version 2.0.5, is that the problem?

...but at least it has been diagnosed. The staff is working hard to correct this problem. Patience is needed for them to be able to fix the problem faster

Through the site xat.com/acckids (which appears as one of the server names) I was able to talk to who did this, who said that it should be over by 1:00 pm EST at the latest. I hope he is true to his word. And according to his words it was not a hack, but whatever it was, he refused to tell.

Someone (unknown) Wanted to test his coding abliltys (c#) and some how created a program to creat multiple servers.

There are a lot of threads showing up lately about the World of Minecraft Client being laggy.
This is due to the issues with the Minecraft.net Server List
which should be sorted out soon on their end. We are also taking
measures to prevent this from inconveniencing World of Minecraft users in the future.
In the meantime, the client will still launch, it takes a while to
initially load. Also avoid using the server filter box in the World of Minecraft
Client.
