World of Minecraft: How do the skin uploads work?

i uploaded a skin yesterday and it was just a PNG file in a post
but today i came to check out hows it doing and you could see the skin like on a player.
Do the mads put that in or is there a way i can do it instantly?

Basically you upload a skin file and eventually (I'm not sure how long it is) it will show in your post and will possibly be on the front page.
