WoM Newsletter! Issue #10

Hello Everyone!

It has been a while, how have you been? Apologies for the gap in the newsletter timeline - last issue had us barely moving to spigot in February and now it’s suddenly June! Things have been a bit quiet but that is about to change!

First of all, we’d like to give a big welcome to our new Trusted users: Lockpick, Jenagade and RileyLewis!

Announcements:

• As you know, we have been putting a lot of work into getting Nexus ready. We appreciate everyone’s patience as it has been a very long process. It is finally ready for Closed and Open Testing again. More info below
• With the addition of our newest trusted, there have been a lot of requests for staff. As a reminder, users are picked for trusted candidates when the Staff team see fit. “The first rule of fight club...do not talk about fight club”. Same goes for asking for staff :P
• As you may have heard, Nolz has been working these last few months on the new Lobby (sometimes referred to as “The Spacestation”). Once Nexus goes into open-beta (see below!), you will be able to use the portals in the new lobby to travel between SMP and Nexus. The exploration areas will be released later on, and we currently do not have an ETA for that right now.

As for what the Lobby looks like, I bet you'd like a teaser screenshot - Enjoy!

SMP

• The contribution to the spawn area has been tremendous. Special thanks to all of our awesome builders. As a reminder for new users, the SMP book you get upon joining is a big help in starting out on SMP, and be sure to check out the /warps list for quick access to various biomes to build in.

We’d also like to remind the current players that we have some donation chests at spawn that can be used to give some items to any new players that join.

• Falon73 has been hard at work making a tunnel system under the spawn road via the Donustation. It’s accessed through the stairs to the basement so be sure to check it out. There are plans for a railway path from there to the stronghold for quick access to the End. You can also follow the main spawn road south of the Donustation to the side road leading to the stronghold. More info as it develops.
• Thanks to the efforts of ERIKIOS, it is now possible to fight the Wither at /warp wither! Team up with friends, stack up on potions, equip your best gear, and come face to face with the beast itself…. and did you know crafting extra help in the arena i.e snow and iron golems is allowed? Who knew! Also, be sure to check out the Arena Bouncer and his pet Fluffy while you are there. You’ll find them across the bridge near the crafting platform.

Nexus

Well, it’s been a long road but NEXUS is finally in closed beta.

How do I get into Closed Beta you ask? Great question!

You can get into the closed beta by showing interest in the comments below (It helps if you also offer cookies and hugs)

What is a closed beta? Amazing question!
A Closed beta is a phase in development where most features are in but things are still a little shakey. The aim of a closed beta is to help iron out the functionality. Closed beta is invite only

Ok sounds good… So “what If I don’t get into the Closed Beta? I want to play too!” Brilliant Question! You are full of great questions today!

Open beta is the last phase of development before launch (in most cases). The aim of open beta is to test the servers performance under load. Anyone can joined Open Beta (Via the lobby portals)
