Is World of Minecraft usable in Minecraft alpha? Ie... survival mode?

If not... is there a way to convert an existing alpha world map to a .dat file that the creative server can read and open?

No for both cases. World of Minecraft does

No for both cases. World of Minecraft does not and will not provide an alpha client. I also don't think there is any way to convert.
