Would the picture below work as a tree garden setup? If not, what should i change?

You should make it two

I think it should work, but it won't be a very effective tree farm.

Edit:
 Made a quick drawing for you. 
Blue squares: Water. 
Green squares: dirt with a sapling on them.
You're room is already five wide, don't know how long it is, but I'mm sure you can make it adjust it a little.
