How did you find Minecraft?
Yeah! All i go to the Official Forums are for getting the word out fast. World of Minecraft is w/out a doubt the 'friendliest' Forum (Minecraft or otherwise) that I've visited. Thanks for posting btw interesting to see others stories :)
I don't know when I found minecraft, I guess it began on a site a long way away, where at first look I thought minecraft was something like world of warcraft or spacecraft or some MMORPG game (which I don't like), but my interest grew when I saw a youtube video of minecraft, from there came more youtube, then finally I began playing classic, and after that, I found beta, but only recently within this year did I learn about World of Minecraft, I found a server in classic that said World of Minecraft (world of minecraft) there I began playing on the server, and afterwards I found out about this website, then finally after such a long time, I found the client, that gave me joy in a gray world, so I have been going from one place to another, but haven't been able to use mods in beta (I just downloaded audio mod today) so I don't know what's coming next...
that's my story-
Yeah for sure, w/out some of the great youtube videos out there, I probably wouldn't have been attracted to it this long.
Me and my friend at school are big nerds in year 8 we played Minecraft on our laptops OUTSIDE!The biggest nerd of the group was playing Inferminer, while the rest of us where playing cod 4. I asked him if i could play and he gave it to me on a USB. We played all lunch. The next day i was ready to play Inferminer (yes i was practicing Inferminer by myself). But then my same friend was playing Minecraft, i thought it was a great game just by watching. I asked for Minecraft (only classic was out then) and then my friend say that you can play it online so i went on minecraft.net and joined the server he was on. When i got home i searched for some servers and played for ages i found a great server called: GETOUT3:JK. Or something like that, but that server doesn't exist anymore. Now i play beta make minecraft videos for you tube and own a server. Thats my story cant wait to see the next one
Ha, for sure! W/out my nerdy Friends it would be a lot less exciting to play :D
my brother showed me minecraft and told me about how he used to play this when I was his age, etc. then we played on his server and got addicted, I played minecraft beta single player for a while, then found World of Minecraft, and here I am now.

I remember after I bought it, I wanted to play Survival first, accidentally started creative and waited 2 hours for it to turn dark :D
I spawned. I walked. I fell in lava.
I was on a chat once, this March, when someone posted a link to a YouTube video, and it was a video showing Herobrine. I was thinking, "What the heck? What game is this?" I researched it a little, and found out it was called Minecraft. Later, (about a day), I found the Yogscast, and watching all of their Minecraft videos, I learned more about the game. I have been stuck with the game because I love it so much. My friend has already bought a code for me, and I am waiting for it to arrive in my email inbox! He plays Minecraft too!
P.S. I still watch the Yogscast, and still like them! :)
Yeah, for sure As I said Youtube is a big thing for me yogscast is my favorite Minecraft commentator (s).
I was on an online chat and I was asking about good java games. Someone told me to look up Markus Persson. I obviously found out about Minecraft shortly after, and I got it the day Beta was released. A few weeks after Beta 1.5 (or was it 1.6?) and my game turned kind into a slideshow. It lagged out to 1 fps every time I started it. This was a few weeks after I joined World of Minecraft. I think I made a post about the lagging, if you look through my post history a little too hard you might find it. Anyway, a month after my Minecraft breaking, I decided to reinstall it finally, and it worked. I'm getting a little far in my Minecraft history, after all this is just to post how you found out about Minecraft.
The Yogscast is hilarious! Sorry I was getting off topic...
you were asked for your minecraft story and it all looks related to your story to me :P
Finally, I took the plunge and bought the game. I knew how to do stuff from watching them play so much. So, I joined their server, which had no monsters and unlimited resources (was a server just for building stuff). I proceeded to build a mansion with an infinity pool which led to an under water glass maze.
@jak2131: You should really watch them! :) But if you want to watch their Minecraft videos, look for their Minecraft video playlist, go to season 1, and watch the first video. They start off with the basics in the first few videos, have fun creating a home in the next few, but about 10 or 15 videos later, they find people and a village (This was when Beta first came out... I'm pretty sure they created all of this), and it starts to turn into a series. Later, in season 2, it turns into a real series called "Shadow of Israphel" (You'll find out who Israphel is if you keep watching), which is still going today and isn't finished. Check it out! You really should!
I heard about minecraft from a friend at school, so i thought that I'd check it out, so I watch a few videos on youtube, and realise that I've got to get this game! So I get it a few patches before the Alpha Halloween Update, then I was there at the release of minecraft Beta 1.0, since then I've been addicted to Minecraft
