i know why this happens. its usually because you typed in your login details wrong. check caps lock and everything, and type it slower and steadier. if still not working, try to log on to minecraft.net and go to "Profile" and change your password. if still not working, idk what to do. :D

look in the "lib" folder. sitting there should be "lwjgl". it should be, and if it is, i have NO idea why its not working. it says its supposed to be in "java.library.path"(look at the message), so i searched that in my search bar but nothing came up. i have no idea how to solve this, so anybody that got this problem and fixed it, how? thanks :D

My hacks have never been able to work. A couple days ago i was having the time of my life at my aunt's house because i donloaded the files there and i had no problems whatsoever.
This is what confuses me though, I'm at my house now and i just tried the client for the first time since i've been back from my aunt's, and they worked, however, i was lagging and so i decided to refresh, and now they dont' work. It's really annoying because now i know they can actually work on this computer. Also, i don't know if this has anything to do with it, but in the cmd thing, i got an error-like message saying the cause of something unknown was other player's skins? although when i asked these players if they had skins they said no... Can someone explain to me what is happening here?

So, I'm sure a lot of you have had problems with a random update From Java when opening the client, and its an easy fix.
To fix it, just reinstall the minecraft.jar from the Custom Client download page and then replace the old minecraft.jar in the 'lib' folder of your client, then run. It should work fine now :)
For those of you still having issues, make sure when you download minecraft.jar that it is not called minecraft.jar.1 etc."
It's another solution, safer, but not as easy.

I decompiled World of Minecraft.jar, because I was curious about Java, since I am learning to program. I have all the classes as .java files, but when I try to recompile it it says to me that ServerDialog.java has errors in:
line 220: not a statement

The "; expected" points at the dot in "ServerDialog.5" and "ServerDialog.6". I did not change anything in the ServerDialog class, but I changed some stuff in Kplayer, because I wanted to test something. Do you have any idea about why does it points the error there? how did you compile it if it shows errors?

I figured out the problem before you got off your lazy butts to figure it out yourselfs.
When it downloads the "Update", it's really downloading the ____ing BETA .JAR!
Try it, download the "Update" then look at the new minecraft.jar, it increases over 600 KBs and if you go inside of it, it contains the Beta files.

Ok, well, I think I know what's happening. If I allow the wrapper to connect to the internet, it tells me to restart so I can apply the update, HOWEVER, it seems like it overwrites the /lib/mincraft.jar file with a new one, as it is now a 0kb file, making it error. If I disallow it to connect to the internet, it doesn't prompt me to apply the update, and if I turn it back on when it gets to the login window, then the whole wrapper works fine. This is annoying however, so a fix would be nice :)

3. disallow run.exe in the World of Minecraft client folder to connect to the internet so it doesn't prompt the update. The log in screen should prompt now.
4. If you get the error "could not find server list" let it load in to single player then click the "switch" button and the server list should come up now.
5. now its a matter of finding servers that are online and yees it works and I am online classic multiplayer as I'm writing this post.

The thing is that it seems to overwrite the minecraft.jar whenever you start it. However, this will only affect you when you close and restart the client. You can play one sesssion as normal.
Fix (Annoying, but works):
1)Remember the minecraft.jar link from the first post? Redownload that.
2)Open your Download-Folder
3)_Copy_ the .jar into the client.
4)You should be able to play once now.
5) The next time you want to play, just copy the .jar from the download-folder again - it won't be changed or anything.

My Minecraft Server and Womclient were both working great until Minecraft migrated to the new cluster. I'm using MCLawl and I know it's still working 'cause I've seen other people getting on it. I have re-downloaded Womclient again as well as the jar file from the s3amazon url, but Womclient is still random and weird. My server appears on the Minecraft website's server list, but only rarely appears on Womclient. All the other servers are there.
If it does appear in the list, or if I paste the url in, when I try to go into it, it immediately starts to generate a single-player level. It does not say 'Couldn't connect...going to single player" or anything like that. I can see in MCLawl that I connected to my server and then disconnected immediately. In fact, Womclient is generating a single-player level when I try to connect to ANY server, without warning.
Everything was fine before the migration and I had no trouble connecting to my own server before. So what the ---- is going on? Nothing has changed at my end and I can get on my server through the minecraft website with no trouble at all. But I love my Womclient! I'm using Windows 7 x64. (I get the same result on my XP x32 system).
Is anyone else having similar issues?

Most of the issues i found and fixed.
No.1 Have security on your computer
No.2 make a file to seperate original minecraft from WoM
No.3 if it says updating, delete, re download
No.4 get windows 7 (mine didnt work on vista for some reason)
No.5 test on single player (i got black screen with some blocks on vista, why?)
No.6 Learn to extract files and place it in another file
No.7 copy and paste minecraft.jar otherwise you can corrupt original (like i did the 1st time)
No.8 reply if this helped!!
Now i know other people put "Fix Problems" like the guy who said only works on windows (i saw that after i posted this) he might of helped alot but these a just a few things i found out, it took me 2 days to figure all these out so please if it helped, reply on this.

Because the minecraft.net server is down, which disables it from connecting to any servers. wait until it reconnects. Notch is getting the server up again soon.

sometimes it does that, either restart, or redownload, the download only takes about 3mins so it not too much of a prob or do what i do, download 1 World of Minecraft client, dont delete it when the real client needs deleting, extract again and just download the "minecraft.jar" file again and copy and paste in the lib file

ohh the 2nd prob just keep "Reload" till it loads the server, or the server your trying to connect to is just down, hope this help, im not pro just tryna help

Still can't get Womclient to connect to any server. It find the server list okay 70% of the time, otherwise it fails to completely. Even when the list of servers is there, if I try to connect to one, it immediately begins to generate a level.
There is no message saying "Can't connect...going single player" at all. This is in now way related to not having the correct minecraft.jar file, as I have had to replace it several times in the last 24 hours thanks to Womclient updating it to a 0kb file.
Look, I'm not an idiot, and if I'm having this much trouble it seems to me that there must be a problem with Womclient since Minecraft migrated to the new server.
Can someone please look into this, or let us know if this is the case? I dual-boot XPx32-SP3 and Win7x64 and have the exact same problem on both systems since Minecraft came back online yesterday. Coincidence?

Updated with new information (at the end)

It might happen that it doens't work, the beta.jar is downloaded constantly and you can't get it started.
In this case, you can bypass the update by
1)Disconnecting from the Internet

3)Reconnect to the Internet
4)Hit the "Switch"-button on the upper left. You will get directly to the Server list and bypass the update
If you do that always before starting the client, you will virtually never update and therefore not face the problem.

Ok listen, when your on the download page above "the Instructions:" bit there is a link in bold black writing, copy and paste into any net browser and you will get a download file named "minecraft.jar", once you downloaded it, leave it at desktop. but remember, once you download "womclient.?.?" i dont remember the number so yaaah open the lib folder under "womclient.?.?" file, and copy and paste the "minecraf.jar" file in there, it might not say "minecraft.jar" maybe just "minecraft" but its the exact same.

Hmm. I can't seem to get this working. I've tried reinstalling the client and it does the same thing. After I put the minecraft.jar file in the lib folder then click run.bat, it starts off normally but then a window pops up saying something like, "This program will now quit. A new applet version should be picked up and installed once restarted." so I restarted the program and now it says,

Minecraft has migrated all their data to a new server cluster. Womclient seems to be struggling with the change.
What is happening is womclient is getting updated, but the file "minecraft.jar" isn't on the server it used to be, so the minecraft.jar in your womclient/lib folder has become 0kb. Empty. You need to re-download minecraft.jar from :
https://s3.amazonaws.com/MinecraftDownload/classic/minecraft.jar
and put it in your womclient/lib folder. Keep a copy of womclient and the minecraft.jar file because might have to do this again later.
To prevent womclient from updating again do this :
1. Disconnect from your network.
2. Start womclient , don't login yet.
3. Re-connect to your network
4. Wait a few secs to be sure you are connected properly
5. Login to womclient.
6. Pray you can connect to a server.
Sometimes you have to repeat this sequence several times before you have sucess. Don't give up after one try!
This is the only semi-reliable solution at the moment that is working for SOME of us.

also, i know i installed it correctly:
download 1.5.9 > download jar file > open client and pull out lib folder and "run button" > add jar file to lib folder > should work properly
as an addition, the other half of the time that i didnt have to go reinstall it, it would say cannot retrieve the server list; going single player (my internet connection is perfectly fine...i could have a million browsers up and no lag or internet connection problems
please fix these problems asap

All I know is that everyday for me the World of Minecraft Client "updates" and the minecraft.jar files are deleted within the folder hence the "0 KB" info thing when it usually has around "280 KB". All you do is replace the file by re downloading. Save the file onto your desktop so that it doesn't have to be in constant "going to the internet" to download.

When you come out of a server, the World of Minecraft client basically "refreshes" itself cause it's run by java not directly to the mincraft.net site, making it direct to single player auto basically, so just wait a few mins or so and you should be able to run the client.

i did EXACTLY whut the instrtuctions said. i downloaded minecraft.jar from the website and placed it in lib. then i opened up run.bat, but it was all like
